The Horse HM-30 is a high-strength Grade I unidirectional carbon fabric at 300 g/m² and 0.167 mm nominal thickness. It provides about 50% more fiber per layer than HM-20, making it the “sweet spot” for medium-load upgrade of main beams, bridge decks and columns—fewer layers than HM-20, easier to handle than HM-43/60.

Q: HM-20 or HM-30?
A: Small upgrade and many curves → HM-20; main beam medium upgrade → HM-30.
Q: Can HM-30 replace HM-20?
A: By fiber mass 1 layer HM-30 ≈ 1.5 layer HM-20; final layer count follows structural calculation. So if the original design calls for 3 layers of HM-20, 2 layers of HM-30 would theoretically provide near-equivalent fiber content. However, whether replacement is feasible in practice depends on:Whether corners/curved surfaces allow a thicker fabric to conform properly;Whether lap length and anchorage requirements are satisfied;Whether epoxy consumption and application process need adjustment; The final layer count must be re-verified by structural calculation.
