GBTECH high modulus carbon fiber tube is a precision structural tube manufactured using M40J, M46J or M55J grade high modulus carbon fiber combined with aerospace-grade epoxy resin. With a fiber tensile modulus of 377-540 GPa (compared to 230 GPa for standard T300), this tube delivers exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio for applications where deflection and flex are critical. The M40J grade offers a fiber tensile strength of 4400 MPa at 377 GPa modulus, while M55J reaches 540 GPa. Ideal for satellite antennas, precision robot arms, high-end sporting goods and optical instrument structures.
Material: M40J / M46J / M55J high modulus carbon fiber + epoxy resin
Outer Diameter: 5-200mm (customizable)
Wall Thickness: 1-5mm (customizable)
Fiber Tensile Modulus: 377 GPa (M40J) / 436 GPa (M46J) / 540 GPa (M55J)
Fiber Tensile Strength: 4400 MPa (M40J) / 4200 MPa (M46J) / 4020 MPa (M55J)
Surface: 3K weave or UD (unidirectional) layup, glossy/matte finish
Certification: ISO 9001 Quality Management Certification
Ultra-High Stiffness-to-Weight Ratio: At 377-540 GPa modulus, the tube is 60-135% stiffer than standard modulus carbon fiber tubes while remaining lightweight. This minimizes deflection under load, critical for precision positioning and antenna alignment applications.
Dimensional Stability & Low Creep: High modulus carbon fiber exhibits minimal creep and near-zero coefficient of thermal expansion along the fiber direction, maintaining precise alignment in temperature-varying environments.
Premium Surface Finish: Available with 3K woven cosmetic layer or pure UD structural layup. The woven option provides a premium visual appearance for consumer-facing products; the UD option maximizes stiffness-to-weight.
Grade Selection for Different Needs: M40J balances strength and modulus (4400 MPa / 377 GPa); M46J offers higher modulus (436 GPa); M55J provides maximum stiffness (540 GPa) for the most demanding precision applications.
Aerospace & Satellite: Satellite antenna booms, spacecraft structural tubes and precision instrument supports requiring minimal deflection.
Robotics & Precision Equipment: High-precision robot arm links, coordinate measuring machine (CMM) tubes and optical alignment structures.
High-End Sporting Goods: Golf club shafts, tennis racket frames, bicycle frame tubes and telescope tubes where stiffness directly affects performance.
Industrial Automation: Precision linear guide supports, sensor mounting tubes and metrology equipment structural components.

Price: Pricing depends on order volume, fiber grade (M40J/M55J), dimensions and layup complexity. High modulus materials carry a premium over standard T300/T700.
Stock Availability: Standard M40J tubes in common sizes may be available; M55J and custom dimensions typically require production lead time.
Shipping Options: Worldwide delivery available with careful packaging for precision components.
"We specified M40J carbon fiber tubes for our satellite antenna boom. The high modulus keeps the antenna alignment stable under thermal cycling, and the tube weight is a fraction of the aluminum alternative."
"The M55J tubes we received have excellent straightness and surface consistency. They reduced deflection in our precision robot arm by over 40% compared to T700 tubes."
What is the difference between M40J and M55J carbon fiber?
M40J offers 377 GPa modulus with 4400 MPa strength, balancing stiffness and durability. M55J reaches 540 GPa modulus but lower strength (4020 MPa), for applications where maximum stiffness is the primary requirement.
Why choose high modulus over standard modulus carbon fiber?
High modulus tubes provide significantly greater stiffness at the same weight, reducing deflection and improving precision. They are preferred for antenna booms, precision robotics and high-end sporting goods where flex directly impacts performance.
Can high modulus tubes be machined?
Yes, but high modulus carbon fiber is more abrasive than standard grade. We recommend using diamond tooling for CNC machining. We can also provide pre-machined parts.
